Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Crushed peppermint candies for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for the cookies as soon as you finish preparing the dough.
  2. Creaming together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the wet ingredients.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Drop dollops of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
