- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Crushed peppermint candies for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for the cookies as soon as you finish preparing the dough.
- Creaming together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the wet ingredients.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop dollops of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them layered between parchment paper.
