- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- Sauté the ground beef in a skillet with olive oil, seasoning generously with salt and pepper until fully cooked.
- Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, chopped basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish, ensuring an even coat.
- Layer 4 noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and another layer of marinara sauce.
- Repeat the layering process: add noodles, more ricotta, mozzarella, and marinara until all ingredients are used.
- Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with marinara sauce and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
