Description

A heartwarming lasagna recipe featuring layers of noodles, ground beef, Italian sausage, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the ground beef and Italian sausage until nicely cooked, then drain excess fat.
  4. Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, fresh basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Spread marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the marinara sauce.
  7. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat, mozzarella, and marinara sauce.
  8. Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used.
  9. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden.
  12. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add another layer of ricotta. This lasagna is great for leftovers—store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for 3 months.
