- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Sauté the ground beef and Italian sausage until nicely cooked, then drain excess fat.
- Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, fresh basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the marinara sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat, mozzarella, and marinara sauce.
- Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra creaminess, add another layer of ricotta. This lasagna is great for leftovers—store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for 3 months.
