Ingredients

- 2–3 pounds pork shoulder
- 2 cups apple cider
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 apples, sliced
- 2–3 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 2–3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for browning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Heat a splash of olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Season the pork shoulder generously with salt and pepper and brown it on all sides.
- Set the browned pork aside.
- Sauté onions and apples until softened.
- Return the pork to the pot among the apples and onions.
- Pour the apple cider over the pork.
- Add the sprigs of thyme and rosemary.
- Cover the pot and bake for 3-4 hours until tender.
- Serve warm with pan juices drizzled over the pork.
Notes
Consider adding apple cider vinegar or brown sugar for enhanced sweetness. Adjust seasonings before serving.
