Description

A delightful dessert that combines the warm flavors of cinnamon and apples in a fluffy cake, topped with a sweet icing.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar in a separate bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool, then drizzle with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk if desired.
