Ingredients

- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 1 cup of apples, peeled and diced
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
- Cut the cold, cubed butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined; lumps are fine!
- Fold in the diced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Knead the dough gently on a floured surface.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds or squares.
- Place the cut biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with an egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream; store leftovers in an airtight container.
