Description

Delightful biscuits filled with warm cinnamon apples, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Cut the cold, cubed butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined; lumps are fine!
  5. Fold in the diced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds or squares.
  8. Place the cut biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the tops with an egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream; store leftovers in an airtight container.
