Description

A delightful dish combining eggs, cream, and cheese in flaky phyllo dough, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as Gruyere or cheddar)
  • 46 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., chives or parsley), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Prepare phyllo sheets by brushing each lightly with melted butter and layering them in the dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl until well combined.
  4. Add half of the shredded cheese into the egg mixture.
  5. Pour the egg and cheese mixture into the prepared phyllo-lined baking dish.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Fold the overhanging edges of the phyllo dough over the egg mixture.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the eggs are set and the phyllo is golden brown.
  9. Cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

Use fresh eggs for the best flavor and brush phyllo evenly with butter for a crispy finish.
