- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (such as Gruyere or cheddar)
- 4–6 sheets of phyllo dough
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., chives or parsley), for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Prepare phyllo sheets by brushing each lightly with melted butter and layering them in the dish.
- Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl until well combined.
- Add half of the shredded cheese into the egg mixture.
- Pour the egg and cheese mixture into the prepared phyllo-lined baking dish.
- Top with the remaining cheese.
- Fold the overhanging edges of the phyllo dough over the egg mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the eggs are set and the phyllo is golden brown.
- Cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh herbs.
