- 2–3 lbs Chicken pieces (Thighs, drumsticks, breasts, etc.)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp Salt (Or to taste)
- 1 tsp Black pepper (Freshly ground)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Smoked paprika (Or regular)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper (Optional/spicy)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (Store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp Honey (Adds stickiness)
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar (Adds tang)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (Depth of flavor)
- 1 tsp Hot sauce (Optional/spicy)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry and brush it with olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper.
- In a bowl, mix all the dry rub ingredients. Coat the chicken thoroughly with this mixture.
- Preheat your grill to medium heat, around 350°F, creating indirect heat zones.
- Start grilling the chicken skin-side down over direct heat. After a few minutes, move it to the indirect heat zone.
- Brush BBQ sauce on the chicken during the last 10 minutes of grilling.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Choose chicken pieces with skin for extra moisture and flavor. Marinate the chicken for deeper flavors, and experiment with different BBQ sauces.
