- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package pie crusts
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms.
- Sauté until the mushrooms are tender and the onions are translucent.
- Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Roll out the pie crust and place one in the pie dish.
- Spoon the meat mixture into the pie crust.
- Cover with a second crust, crimping the edges to seal.
- Brush the top crust with a beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Allow the pie to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. It can be served with a salad or steamed vegetables.
