Description
Delightful light and fluffy Belgian waffles with a crispy exterior, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 large Eggs, separated
- 1 3/4 cups Milk
- 1/2 cup Butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup Chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Blueberries
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons Cocoa powder (for chocolate waffles)
Instructions
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Beat egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form. Gently fold whipped whites into the batter without deflating them.
- Preheat the Belgian waffle maker to medium-high. Spray with cooking spray when ready.
- Pour batter into the center of the waffle iron and close the lid. Cook for 3–4 minutes or until steam stops and the waffle is golden and crisp.
- Remove the waffle, serve hot, and add your favorite toppings. Keep finished waffles warm in a 200°F oven if needed.
Notes
Make sure waffle iron is well preheated for a crispy texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
