- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
