Description
A fun twist on the classic dessert, combining rich chocolate and creamy custard in bite-sized cookies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
- 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Vanilla Custard
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy in another bowl. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool completely.
- Cut a small indentation into the center of each cookie and fill it with vanilla custard.
- Melt the chocolate chips with the vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle or pour the melted chocolate over the filled cookies and let it set before serving.
Notes
Make sure to let the cookies cool completely before filling them to avoid melting the custard. For a richer taste, consider using dark chocolate for the topping. Homemade custard can provide a fresher flavor.
