  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (35g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup (135g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold until just combined and pour into a greased 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese until fluffy, gradually adding sugar, then eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream until smooth.
  3. Pour the cheesecake batter over the brownie base and spread evenly. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until slightly jiggly in the center.
  4. Cool completely at room temperature then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a richer taste, mix in chocolate chips or nuts into the brownie batter, or add flavors like lemon zest to the cheesecake. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
