- 1 packet active dry yeast

- 4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour and salt; mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Bring water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
- Divide the dough into small pieces and shape into bites.
- Boil each piece for 30 seconds, then drain and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter before serving.
Notes
For a cheesy version, place a small cube of cheese in the center of the dough before shaping. Experiment with toppings like garlic or parmesan cheese.
