Description

Delicious buttery soft pretzel bites, perfect for parties, game days, or as a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)
  • Butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  6. Prepare a boiling water bath by dissolving baking soda in water. Boil each pretzel bite for 30 seconds, then remove and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush the bites with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush with melted butter before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Serve warm with dips like cheese sauce or mustard. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature up to 2 days or freeze tightly wrapped.
