Description

Buttery soft pretzel bites are the ultimate snack, fluffy, chewy, and easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture; mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil.
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces, roll into bites, and drop them into the boiling water for about 30 seconds.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on the baking sheet.
  8. Brush each pretzel bite with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
