Description

Delightfully soft and chewy pretzel bites with a slightly salty crust, perfect for parties or cozy nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • Coarse salt

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour gradually and mix until a dough forms; knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, covered.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. Boil water in a large pot and add baking soda.
  6. Roll the dough into small bites and drop them into boiling water for about 30 seconds.
  7. Place the bites on a baking sheet, brush with a beaten egg, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Best served warm. Ideal with mustard, cheese sauce, or your favorite dip. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
