Ingredients

- 1 and 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it gets foamy.
- Add flour, melted butter, and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into small pieces and roll them into bite-sized balls.
- Boil water in a large pot and add baking soda.
- Boil the pretzel bites in batches for about 30 seconds, then take them out and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- Allow them to cool slightly and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore softness.
