Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces eggs
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1.5 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 0.25 teaspoon onion powder (heaping)
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
- 0.75 teaspoon paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes (or to taste)
- 0.67 cup chicken bone broth or vegetable broth, low sodium
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Kosher salt (optional)
- Chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by bringing a pot of water to a gentle boil.
- Carefully place the eggs in the boiling water and cook for about 10-12 minutes.
- Once done, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool down quickly.
- While the eggs cool, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, sugar, onion powder, lemon pepper seasoning, paprika, and red chili flakes.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and lemon juice. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
- Peel the cooled eggs and gently add them to the pan, making sure they get coated with the spicy mixture.
- Simmer the eggs in the broth mix for another 5 minutes, letting them soak up the flavors.
Notes
Ensure your eggs are fresh for the best taste and texture. Adjust the spice levels to suit your preference by adding more or fewer chili flakes. For more flavor, let the eggs marinate in the broth mix for a few hours before serving.
