Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz Penne Pasta (Substitute with fettuccine or gluten-free pasta if needed.)
- 1 lb Sirloin Steak (Ribeye or flank steak also work well.)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (Feel free to use vegetable oil in a pinch.)
- 2 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (Adjust according to your heat preference.)
- 1 tsp Salt (Essential for enhancing flavors.)
- 1 tsp Black Pepper (Use freshly cracked for best flavor.)
- 4 tbsp Butter (Substitute with plant-based butter for a dairy-free option.)
- 4 cloves Garlic (Minced.)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (Coconut cream can be used for a dairy-free version.)
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (Opt for vegan Parmesan if desired.)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (Chopped.)
Instructions
- Boil 8 ounces of penne pasta in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, letting the pasta retain some warmth.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Wait until the oil shimmers.
- Generously rub 1 pound of sirloin steak with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Add to the skillet and sear for 3-5 minutes on each side.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 4 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning and 4 tablespoons of butter. Mix until the butter is melted.
- Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring to blend it into the sauce. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Chop the rested steak into bite-sized pieces. Add it along with the cooked pasta to the creamy sauce. Toss gently.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, use chicken breast instead of steak and swap heavy cream for a lighter alternative like half-and-half or Greek yogurt.
