  • 1 large onion (Diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (Diced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (Diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (Minced)
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (Use 2–3 tbsp for stronger flavor)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Salt & pepper (To taste)
  • 8 hamburger buns (Toasted)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (For creamy version)
  • Jalapeños (Extra heat)

  • Celery (Diced)
  • Shredded cheese (On top)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Drain any excess liquid and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper to the skillet.
  5. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
  6. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  7. Add the Cajun seasoning and stir well.
  8. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  9. Mix everything together thoroughly.
  10. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing it to thicken.
  11. Taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary.
  12. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes to thicken further.
  13. Toast the hamburger buns and spoon the mixture onto each bun.
  14. Serve warm with optional toppings.

Notes

For a creamier version, stir in heavy cream while simmering. Adjust the Cajun seasoning for a bolder flavor.
