Description
A delicious combination of savory cheesesteak filling and garlicky bread, perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large loaf of French bread
- 1 pound of thinly sliced beef (like ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 cup of sliced bell peppers (green, red, or yellow)
- 1 cup of sliced onions
- 2 cups of provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 4 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, cooking until they are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until the beef is browned, about 5 more minutes.
- Mix the remaining melted butter with minced garlic in a small bowl.
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves.
- Pile the beef and vegetables onto one half of the bread. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
- Carefully place the other half of the bread on top. Wrap the stuffed loaf in aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
