- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon in another bowl. Gradually add this to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack.
- Beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract for the frosting until smooth and creamy.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the cinnamon buttercream and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Notes
For a rich flavor, you can add chocolate chips to the batter or replace vanilla extract with almond extract.
