Description

A comforting and nostalgic green bean casserole featuring cream of mushroom soup and crispy fried onions, perfect for holiday feasts or weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked green beans (or 2 cans, drained)
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and black pepper, mixing well.
  3. Add the cooked green beans to the soup mixture and stir until coated.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 1.5-quart casserole dish, spreading evenly.
  5. Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbling.
  6. Stir in 2/3 cup of the French fried onions after baking.
  7. Return the casserole to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
  8. Top with remaining French fried onions before serving.
