Description

Classic Italian Meatballs are hearty and flavorful, perfect for pairing with spaghetti, in a sub sandwich, or as party appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients: ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs using slightly wet hands.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook meatballs in batches for about 6-8 minutes until browned on all sides.
  5. Add marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a mix of ground beef and pork. Don’t overmix to keep them tender. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for 3 months.
