Ingredients

- 2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4–5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir well.
- Gradually add more flour, one cup at a time, until the dough comes together and is not sticky.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into strips.
- Place the breadsticks on a greased baking sheet. Brush melted butter over them and sprinkle garlic powder and oregano on top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and brush with more melted butter. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Serve warm with marinara sauce or ranch dressing. Can store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
