Description

A classic dish that combines tender chicken with savory ham and melted cheese, perfect for impressing guests at dinner parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium chicken breasts (67 oz each)
  • 8 slices Black Forest ham
  • 1 1/4 cups freshly shredded Swiss Gruyere cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with a rack.
  2. Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  3. Layer two slices of ham and about 1/4 cup of cheese on each breast, then roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  4. To prepare the panko breading, toast the breadcrumbs in a mix of butter and olive oil, then combine them with Parmesan cheese and any preferred spices.
  5. Coat the chicken rolls in a Dijon mustard wash, then dredge them in the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  7. While the chicken bakes, whisk together the heavy cream and seasonings for the sauce; simmer until thickened.
  8. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving it with the sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

Ensure the chicken breasts are flattened evenly for proper cooking. High-quality cheese enhances flavor.
