Description

Delicious crab stuffed biscuits topped with a zesty lemon drizzle, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Southern Biscuit Flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk (or regular milk with vinegar or lemon juice)
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (sharp cheese recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (or fresh minced garlic)
  • 1/2 cup Butter Shortening (all-butter is a great alternative)
  • 1 cup Lump Crab (fresh or canned, avoid imitation)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun Seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard (your favorite type)
  • 1/2 cup Crushed Crackers (or breadcrumbs)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (unsalted)
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice (fresh is preferred)
  • Fresh Herbs (optional, like parsley)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix together the Southern biscuit flour, buttermilk, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and butter shortening until a dough forms.
  3. Combine the lump crab, Cajun seasoning, mayonnaise, mustard, and crushed crackers in another bowl.
  4. Fold the crab mixture into the biscuit dough gently until just combined.
  5. Scoop the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  7. Mix melted butter with lemon juice to create the zesty drizzle while baking.
  8. Drizzle the lemon mixture over the warm biscuits once out of the oven.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving, if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
