Description

A comforting baked mostaccioli dish with cottage cheese, mozzarella, and rich marinara sauce, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz mostaccioli pasta
  • 16 oz cottage cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the mostaccioli pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet until translucent.
  4. Combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, cottage cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add cooked ground meat or vegetables to the pasta mixture. To make it creamier, stir in sour cream or heavy cream with the cottage cheese. Avoid overcooking the pasta as it will continue to cook in the oven.
