- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the tortellini according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
- Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir until well combined.
- Add the fresh spinach, cooking until just wilted, about 1-2 minutes.
- Gently fold the cooked tortellini into the creamy sauce until evenly coated.
Notes
For a lighter option, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. You can substitute proteins according to your preference.
