A flavorful twist on traditional garlic bread, made with Greek yogurt and self-rising flour for a soft and fluffy texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/4 cups self-rising flour
- 1 1/4 cups Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp butter (melted and cooled to room temperature)
- 3 tsp garlic (freshly minced)
- 3 tsp Italian herbs
- 2 1/2 cups cheese (shredded mozzarella)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F.
- Combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt in a medium bowl, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
- Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking sheet or similar-sized pan.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and gently press it out until it reaches about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Drizzle the cooled melted butter evenly over the dough.
- Mix the minced garlic, Italian herbs, black pepper, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Sprinkle this seasoning mixture evenly across the dough.
- Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and edges are golden brown.
- Remove the pan from the oven and let the garlic bread cool for 2-3 minutes.
- Cut the bread into squares or strips and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly minced garlic for the best flavor. Don’t overmix the dough to keep the bread soft. Experiment with different cheeses and herbs to match your taste.
