- ½ cup granulated sugar

- 1 cup warm milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the ingredients: Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms and knead for 10 minutes.
- Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 45 minutes until it doubles in size.
- Prepare the topping: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the honey and sliced almonds, cooking for about 5 minutes.
- Assemble the cake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and spread it into a greased baking pan. Evenly spread the almond topping over the dough and bake for 25 minutes.
- Make the cream filling: While the cake is baking, whip together the heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Cool and fill: Once the cake is baked, let it cool completely. Slice the cake in half horizontally and spread the cream filling on the bottom half.
- Serve and enjoy: Slice the cake into squares or wedges and serve immediately.
