Description
Delicious and crispy fritters made with cabbage, onion, and carrot, perfect as a snack or side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups finely shredded green cabbage
- 1 medium onion
- 1 medium carrot
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup avocado oil or olive oil
- 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Combine finely shredded cabbage, chopped onion, shredded carrot, beaten eggs, flour, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika in a large bowl. Mix until well blended.
- Pour enough avocado or olive oil into a skillet to cover the bottom. Heat over medium heat until the oil shimmers.
- Scoop portions of the mixture (about 3 tablespoons each) into the skillet, forming 3-inch fritters. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Continue with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
- Mix together sour cream (or yogurt), sriracha, lemon juice, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Stir until well combined.
- Serve the warm fritters with the dipping sauce on the side, garnished with extra scallions if desired.
Notes
For extra crispy fritters, ensure your oil is hot before adding the mixture. Adjust seasoning to taste. Can be made gluten-free.
