Description

Deliciously crunchy and spicy cheese balls perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the diced jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until well combined.
  3. Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls.
  4. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs.
  5. Roll each cheese ball in the flour, dip it in the eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  7. Carefully add the cheese balls to the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove the balls from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Notes

Serve hot and fresh, great with dipping sauces. For extra spice, use more jalapenos or crushed red pepper flakes.
