Description
Delicious and easy-to-make crispy garlic butter tofu bites, perfect for snacking or as a side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegan butter
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- Toss the tofu with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add vegan butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the coated tofu to the skillet and cook until crispy and golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Mix soy sauce and maple syrup together in a separate bowl. Pour it over the tofu bites in the skillet and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
Press tofu well for crispiness. Adjust seasoning to taste. For a spicier flavor, consider adding chili flakes or sriracha.
