Description

Delicious and easy-to-make crispy garlic butter tofu bites, perfect for snacking or as a side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegan butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Toss the tofu with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add vegan butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add the coated tofu to the skillet and cook until crispy and golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Mix soy sauce and maple syrup together in a separate bowl. Pour it over the tofu bites in the skillet and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Press tofu well for crispiness. Adjust seasoning to taste. For a spicier flavor, consider adding chili flakes or sriracha.
