Description

A simple and comforting dessert with creamy richness and just the right sweetness, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Large eggs (Room temperature preferred)
  • 2 cups Whole milk (Full-fat for creaminess)
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (Pure preferred)
  • 0.25 tsp Salt (Enhances sweetness)

  2. Heat 4–6 cups of water until hot but not boiling.
  3. In a medium bowl, gently whisk the eggs until they are fully combined.
  4. Add sugar and salt to the eggs, whisking until the mixture lightens in color.
  5. Slowly whisk in the milk and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into a baking dish or individual ramekins.
  7. If desired, sprinkle nutmeg on top.
  8. Carefully place the custard dish(es) in the preheated roasting pan.
  9. Slowly pour hot water into the roasting pan until it reaches halfway up the sides of the custard dish.
  10. Bake for 45–50 minutes (or 35–40 minutes for ramekins) until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  11. Turn off the oven and let the custard cool in the water bath for 15 minutes before removing.
