- 200g penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 400g canned tomatoes, crushed
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Boil a pot of salted water and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, add salt to taste, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Add the cooked penne to the sauce and toss to combine.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes according to your taste. For a deeper flavor, add a splash of red wine while simmering.
