Description

Delightful breakfast pastries with versatile fillings, made easy with flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • Chocolate (chocolate chips or chopped chocolate)
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
  • Apples (sliced or diced)
  • Cream cheese
  • Eggs
  • Ham (diced or sliced)
  • Fresh herbs (thyme or chives)
  • Sugar (for sweet fillings)
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares or rectangles.
  3. Place a spoonful of your chosen filling (chocolate, berries, apples, cream cheese, ham, or herbs) in the center of each pastry square.
  4. Fold the pastry over the filling to create a triangle or rectangle, pressing the edges to seal.
  5. Brush the top of each pastry with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  6. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your homemade pastries!

Notes

Serve warm, pairs well with coffee or fruit salad.
