Description

A versatile and comforting dish filled with an assortment of vegetables, meats, and gooey cheese, all baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 1 cup assorted vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)
  • 1 cup cooked meat (e.g., sausage, pepperoni, ham, or chicken)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella, cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
  3. Prepare the filling by combining the assorted vegetables, cooked meat, cheese, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the two halves of bread.
  5. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Slice the Garbage Bread and serve warm.
