Description

A rich and moist German Chocolate Sheet Cake topped with coconut and pecan frosting, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large sheet cake pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the boiling water to the batter, stirring until smooth and slightly thinner than traditional cake batter.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely after removing it from the oven.
  7. Make the frosting by combining coconut flakes, chopped pecans, and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
  8. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake, covering it generously.
