Description
A fun twist on traditional sliders featuring savory beef and cheese on sweet Hawaiian rolls, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef
- 12 pack Hawaiian rolls
- 11 slices Colby jack cheese (or American cheese)
- 1 large sweet onion (diced)
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 24 dill pickles
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1.5 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons pickled juice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to broil.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally and place the cut side up on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and broil for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Press it into a casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- While the beef is cooking, sauté the diced onions in melted butter over low heat until browned, which takes about 15 minutes.
- Assemble the sliders: layer pickles on the bottom buns, add the cooked beef slab, top with cheese and sautéed onions, then place the top buns back on.
- Brush the tops with the remaining butter and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese melts.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and feel free to mix in toppings like jalapeños or bacon.
