- 4 chicken breasts
- 3/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/3 cup yogurt
- 5 cloves garlic (freshly minced)
- 1.5 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 3/4 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels. If any parts are thick, gently flatten them by pressing down with your hand.
- Combine the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, oregano, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Mix until well blended.
- Place the dried chicken breasts in a bowl or a large zip-top bag. Pour the yogurt marinade over the chicken, turning to coat all sides evenly.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
- Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking.
- For grilling: Preheat the grill to medium-high and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- For baking: Place chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 425°F for 16-18 minutes until it reaches 165°F.
- For air frying: Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 8 minutes. Flip and then cook for an additional 4-7 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Transfer the cooked chicken to a clean plate. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with rice, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad.
Notes
Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Let the chicken marinate longer if you have the time; this will enhance the taste.
