- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 3/4 cups water
- Olive oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast in a large bowl.
- Pour in the water and stir until a wet, sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for at least 12 hours.
- Flour your work surface generously after the dough has risen.
- Turn the dough onto the floured surface and shape it into a rectangle, folding it a few times.
- Cut the dough into pieces using a sharp knife or bench scraper.
- Place the pieces on a greased baking tray and allow to rise for another hour, covered with a damp cloth.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bake the dough for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Store ciabatta wrapped in a clean cloth or paper bag for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Revive in the oven or toaster.
