Description

A delightful twist on traditional mac and cheese, featuring honey pepper chicken for a flavorful zing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces spiral noodles
  • 25 ounces breaded chicken strips
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (freshly shredded)
  • 3/4 cup colby jack cheese (freshly shredded)
  • 5 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • Basil for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. Boil water in a large pot and cook spiral noodles until al dente. Drain the noodles.
  3. In a saucepan, create the honey pepper sauce by combining honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, lemon juice, vinegar, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Simmer the mixture until it thickens.
  4. In a frying pan over low heat, melt butter and gradually add heavy cream. Then, add the parmesan, mozzarella, and colby jack cheeses until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Combine the cooked noodles with the cheese sauce and crumbled bacon.
  6. Coat the chicken strips in the honey pepper sauce and serve them on top of the pasta.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before enjoying your meal.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using grilled chicken instead of breaded strips. Adjust spice level as desired.
