Description

A delightful and nostalgic dessert that features a buttery crust filled with your choice of fruit jam.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam (strawberry, raspberry, cherry, or apricot)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine flour and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Press the dough into a tart pan, covering the bottom and sides evenly.
  6. Spread a generous layer of fruit jam over the crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
