- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (strawberry, raspberry, cherry, or apricot)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine flour and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
- Press the dough into a tart pan, covering the bottom and sides evenly.
- Spread a generous layer of fruit jam over the crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
