Description

Deliciously glazed meatballs slathered in a vibrant red sauce, reminiscent of the street food culture in Seoul.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine ground beef or pork, breadcrumbs, green onions, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well mixed.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Mix gochujang and honey in a small bowl and brush the mixture over the meatballs.
  5. Bake the meatballs for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Whisk together mayonnaise, rice vinegar, and sriracha for the spicy mayo dip.
  7. Serve the meatballs hot with the spicy mayo dip on the side.

Notes

Keep your hands wet when shaping meatballs to prevent sticking. You can change up the protein or adjust the spiciness of the gochujang as desired.
