Description

A flavorful and crunchy Korean Fried Chicken recipe, perfect for casual meals and festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken breast (cut into 1-inch chunks)
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup flour (gluten-free option available)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Canola oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup gochujang paste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip chicken pieces in beaten eggs, then coat them in the cornstarch mixture. Repeat for extra crunch.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan until hot but not smoking.
  5. Fry the coated chicken in batches until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes for each batch.
  6. Toss the fried chicken in the prepared sauce while it is still hot.
  7. Serve immediately with optional garnishes like sesame seeds or green onions.

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying. You can also bake the chicken for a healthier option.
