- 2 pounds chicken breast (cut into 1-inch chunks)
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup flour (gluten-free option available)
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- Canola oil for frying
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup gochujang paste
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
- Dip chicken pieces in beaten eggs, then coat them in the cornstarch mixture. Repeat for extra crunch.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan until hot but not smoking.
- Fry the coated chicken in batches until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes for each batch.
- Toss the fried chicken in the prepared sauce while it is still hot.
- Serve immediately with optional garnishes like sesame seeds or green onions.
Notes
Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying. You can also bake the chicken for a healthier option.
