Description
A fun twist on traditional French fries with Cajun flavors, crispy and creamy with a spicy kick.

- 6 medium russet potatoes, scrubbed, peeled, and sliced into ¾-inch by 3-inch fries
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1–2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- ¼ cup creamy ranch dressing
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- â…” cup whole milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Wash and scrub the potatoes, peel, and slice them into thick fries.
- Bring 1 quart of water to a boil in a large pot and add 3 tablespoons of salt. Steam the potato slices for about 10-12 minutes until just tender.
- Transfer the potatoes to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss to coat evenly.
- Arrange the fries in a single layer on a nonstick baking sheet. Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes, then rotate and bake for another 5-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and milk, cooking until thick and smooth. Add shredded cheddar and stir until melted.
- Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Toss and top with ranch dressing and cheese sauce.
- Serve hot with extra ranch and cheese sauce on the side.
Notes
For extra crispiness, soak sliced potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the Cajun seasoning for your taste.
