Description

Delightful blondies featuring brown sugar and maple syrup with toasted pecans, topped with a sweet maple glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty.
  3. Remove from heat and let the butter cool slightly.
  4. Combine brown sugar and brown butter in a mixing bowl, then stir in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Whisk together maple syrup and powdered sugar for the glaze, then drizzle over the cooled blondies.
  10. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Toasted nuts enhance the flavor, and you can adjust the sweetness to your liking.
