A delightful one-pan meal featuring seasoned chicken in a creamy sauce with melted cheese, perfect for busy weeknights and family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 cup of cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup of chicken broth (low-sodium recommended)
- 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup of sour cream
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Sear the Chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Make the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, ranch seasoning mix, Worcestershire sauce, and sour cream. Whisk until smooth.
- Combine and Bake: Pour the sauce over the seared chicken. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using different types of cheese or adding sautéed mushrooms or spinach. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
